
Salma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimenez; September 2, 1966)[3][4][5] is a Mexican and American actress as well as film producer. Her professional career began in Mexico which she played in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991) as well as the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995), which brought her an Ariel Award nomination. Her career quickly took off in Hollywood with appearances in films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999). Hayek's character as Frida Kahlo painting artist in Frida (2002) which was a biographical film she produced which earned her an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination[66. The actress also earned her Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Hayek continued to make films her films, and also starred in action-oriented pictures Once Upon a Time in Mexico in the following years.
