Kellie 2 Kellie 4 Jennifer Jennifer 1Kellie Pickler is one of "American Idol's" most successful graduates even if she wasn't able to win the title. Kellie Pickler was born on June 28th, 1986 in Stanly Memorial Hospital Albemarle. Her parents are Cynthia Morton and Clyde Raymond Pickler. At the time of her pregnancy she was just sixteen years old. Pickler experienced a challenging childhood because of her drug and alcohol abuse, as her mother left her when she was the age of two. Morton returned to take her custody for a couple of years, but Pickler confessed that she wasn't all that great. "I remember that my mother and I were together in the same kitchen, and I told her I'd rather die than to be together with you. I wish God took me off.' She got off a knife from the kitchen and placed it in the middle of the counter. And she then told her: "Here you go." I was in the fourth grade. It's too bad I didn't act on it. It left the impression of a long-lasting emotional wound. The court ultimately handed Pickler to her grandparents when she turned 12 years old and Morton wasn't present to the court case. Pickler was raised by her maternal grandmothers through her lifetime. She cites them as being the most influential people to influence her in the course of her life. The year was January 2002 when her grandmother Faye Pickler passed away from lung cancer. Her family was led by her grandfather. Pickler earned her high school diploma from North Stanly in New London, North Carolina.
