With her personal highlights so far including getting hand-picked by Snoop Dogg to be his guest on stage during the YouTube Brandcast in May 2013 Niykee has kept up a steady songwriting routine despite the whirlwind of recent years. Young producer has been drawn to her, and constantly checks out the latest beats. A lot of them inspire music ideas. I'll know if a beat's excellent after just five seconds and then I'll be able to get a tune in my head, and I'll start creating right away, she adds. While I play the guitar outside on my porch I begin writing, and words flow. A majority often, I'm completed in just thirty minutes. Niykee is continuing to improve her skills as a poet and lyrics writer. She explains how the pain she experienced during her childhood can be a sources of motivation. Although I don't write in a literal way about what has occurred to me, the trauma of my childhood and loss of my sister in being integrated into my music she says. It shapes my songs and creates a deeper meaning under everything which is one the most important things to me--I need to know that I'll be able to listen to any of my music 20 years from now and still be proud of what I had to say.
